Party Rental Website
A Grand Affair Rental
is a local party rental business. It is a family owned and operated business that services a small geographic area. The company doesn’t take payments online and their old website was simply a brochure online.
Kimo and Amy came to me with a request to refresh their website. At the time, they had a pretty outdated static website that was not responsive and had no additional functions. It simply served as a business card website.
I quickly sat down with them to get familiar with their business. We went over their company’s products and services. Next, I zeroed in on what it is they needed the new website to do. Thereafter, we proceeded to identifying the problems with the old website. Kimo and Amy also told me they needed the new website to be more interactive with the visitors, and to enable them to be able to browse the rental items easier.
The path was chosen. We laid out the website in a manner that would allow the owners to easily group rental items and present it in a functional way. My recommendation was that they go with an e-commerce type layout.
The website was coded from scratch to accommodate their requirements. We recycled the existing imagery to avoid additional expenses. The color scheme was preserved also.
Easy grouping of rental items into categories. Including breadcrumb navigation and responsive tiles in a grid.
The client also wanted to have a Wishlist capability. Where the website visitors could add items to a wishlist and it would automatically be attached to quote requests.
In the past, the rental clients had to write out the names of the items they were interested in. Now, they can simply click on the “Add To Wishlist” button to save it without worrying about forgetting about it or misspelling it. Now when the owners get a quote request, the wishlist is automatically attached to the bottom of the email.
At this point the website is live, in the next iteration we will add a blog and a special showcase application.
